Unilin continues to defend SPC patent portfolio against Vilox

NEWS

Unilin Technologies, a global leader in flooring innovation, stands firm in its dedication to protecting its extensive SPC patent portfolio. On January 30, the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) ruled that a specific non-foamed SPC product from a single Vilox licensee is not covered by the three patents asserted in the 2019 Unilin ITC action. US Customs and Border Protection however agreed with Unilin’s argumentation that the ruling should be limited to the unique non-foamed SPC sample Vilox presented to CBP. Unilin already filed a district court complaint against Vilox based on different patents within their SPC portfolio.

Unilin's IP business files court case against Halstead International Group

20/03/2018

On March 16, 2018, Flooring Industries, Unilin's IP division, filed a court case against Tower IP Co., the Irish intellectual property company of Halstead International and Vertex, before the Landgericht in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The case is based on alleged breaches by Tower IP Co of its 2013 agreement with Flooring Industries. Flooring Industries is of the opinion that Tower IP Co. breached several of its obligations, including non-reporting and non-payment of fees for Halstead International Group's world-wide imports and sales of products with I4F locking technology.

Flooring Industries is convinced that products with I4F locking technologies fall under several of its patents, and is therefore demanding payment of all due contractual fees, increased with contractual penalties and interests.
