Unilin Technologies introduces its patented Pressed Bevel Technology for resilient flooring to its continuously growing licensing base. With this technology, the edges of a resilient flooring panel are pressed downwards into a bevel, making sure the decor layer and texture of the board continue until the deepest point of the bevel. This unique technology, on which Unilin Technologies already started filing patents more than 10 years ago,  enhances the appearance of resilient flooring to be even closer to real wood than ever before.

Unilin resolves SPC trademark issue for its licensed partners

19/06/2024

Unilin Technologies, the IP and technology division of Unilin, is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with i4F relating to the use of US “SPC” trademark. This agreement resolves the issues surrounding “SPC” branded products in the US market, ensuring freedom to operate for Unilin’s licensees and their partners.

In recent months, the flooring industry faced “SPC” trademark related challenges due to US customs seizures of rigid vinyl flooring products, also known as SPC products, which caused concerns and burdens for manufacturers, importers and distributors.

To address this, Unilin entered into a contract with i4F and obtained non-revocable rights on the “SPC” trademark. i4F became the owner of the SPC trademark after an agreement with the previous owner Daniel Mitchell.

“Our primary goal has always been to support our partners and ensure their operations run smoothly”, states Bart Van der Stockt, President of Unilin Technologies. “With this agreement, we ensured that our licensees and partners can use the SPC name without fear and move forward with confidence to focus on their core business.”
